Ttc can i take a bath

Me and my man are trying to conceive, and I'm currently ovulating, so last night we did have sex- I was wondering if it'd be safe for me to take a hot bath, or would that affect anything??

Also, I might just be going crazy, or just wanting it too bad but after sex last night, I had bad cramping, and it's still there this morning but it's not as bad- I know it's far too early for symptoms if i am pregnant, but could that be anything?

It's never happened before! Add a comment. Comments 8 Add a comment. No, hot baths are unfortunately no good for TTCing - the increase in temperature could be damaging to your egg.

You can have a nice warm bath and add epsom salts which are great for fertility , but if the water is hot enough to turn your skin red then it is too hot. As for the cramping, if you are ovulating - implantation doesn't occur until DPO so the cramping was probably more associated with ovulation as it is very normal to cramp around ovulation. I would also avoid the bath. The cramping is most likely associated with ovulation. Ttcmamaa Original poster. Thank you. Also, I was wondering I forgot putting it in the post- Is it also possible to conceive a few days after ovulation?

My ovulation tracker says I'm meant to ovulate on the 6th, and we did try conceiving on the 9th- But, I was still having all signs of ovulation yesterday, like the mucus, cramping, plenty of signs- IS it possible I could've messed up, and I was still ovulating? Or, is it possible I could've conceived any way? Really eager for our own little baby so far no luck, but we've only been trying for two months, this being our third.

Thanks in advance, and thank you so much for your response and help! Thank you! I actually took the bath before I got any responses- but, only sat in it fully for about two minutes, then proceeded with a shower because I was anxious- do you think in the small amount of time it could have affected anything??

Okay awesome, I was only in for a very brief amount of time, and it wasn't exactly hot hot, just warm! I was able to get in right away. Also- i'm a little confused with my ovulation- See, my chart says I was meant to ovulate on the 6th- But, yesterday I had thin, stretchy cervical mucus, cramping, all the signs of ovulation- is it possible I could still have gotten pregnant?

Everyone's body is different but for me cramps, and ewcm is a clear indication ovulation is going to happen soon or just did. If I were you I would keep trying until all those symptoms are gone. Pre-Seed lubricant was discovered as leading to a significantly higher sperm vitality than all other lubricants tested in the study. However the sperm viability is still a bit lower than it would be without lubricant.

There is evidence that significantly raising the body temperature through hot baths during the early stages of pregnancy could lead to birth defects. De-Kun Li, research scientist in reproductive and prenatal epidemiology at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research in California, conducted a study that established a link between hot baths and miscarriage. Remember that during the period when you are waiting to take your pregnancy test you might not know if you are pregnant or not.

It has also been proven that repeated exposure to high water temperature can lead to male infertility, so tell your boyfriend or husband to avoid it as well. Women who are TTC may also want to limit their caffeine intake. Spending 10 minutes or more submerged in hot water can bring your core body temperature higher than F , the Mayo Clinic reported. This only applies to already-pregnant women, and not those who are TTC. Absolutely, advises Dr.

Because, as it turns out, your eggs like the warm environment. This means their normal environmental temperature is Diaz continues.
