This will aid and inform many guests who would be conscious and concerned about the restraints on our Rides. We aim to be as inclusive as we can and provide amazing experiences for everyone!
We are so pleased that you did manage to have an absolutely incredible experience and for all of our future guests we do have all of our Restrictions on our Website to aid future guests! We cannot wait to welcome you back to the Resort for even more magic and even more fun!!
We saved up Sun Savers vouchers through the Sun newspaper meaning we were able to gain admission for two people for the cost of a weeks newspapers!! Amazing as we would not have gone but for this. There were six of us in our party today. We arrived as the park opened and left as it closed so literally spent all day in Alton Towers!!
Sadly when my friend and I wanted to go on Thirteen an hour before closing it was closed, which made us sad as we love that ride. One of our party dropped her mobile phone when getting in the monorail coming home and the staff had to help her retrieve this which caused delays. Thank you for helping her! Anyway, we loved the day, enjoyed all the park had to offer and how friendly the staff were. Four of our party had lunch and snacks in the park which they enjoyed , two more of our party bought several coffees and all in all we would definitely come back.
We're so glad to hear all about your magical experience and the happy memories you made at the Alton Towers Resort! It's great to hear how much you enjoyed our thrilling rides and attractions! We hope to see you again soon!
SpecialKPG 2 contributions. CBeebies Land - worth the entrance fee? So assuming you're a parent with toddler s you'll only want to visit CBeebies Land right? Therefore you'll be relieved to know that under 4's go free. However you look at it, it's an expensive day out. Oh did I mention that you have to pay to park? Think carefully about whether you want to be lumbered with a buggy all day there are plenty of buggy parking areas though or opt to take your little one in a back pack style carrier.
I opted for the latter which was less cumbersome. Ok cost aside, CBeebies land is pretty much the first 'zone' you get to once you're in the park, so you and your toddlers don't have walk very far - bonus! Night Garden Boat ride, Postman Pat parcel post etc are all fantastic - but query the waiting times.
Every ride said '45 min' wait but we didn't wait more than 15mins for anything. Definitely worth a visit, get a promo ticket though. And finally You'll want to go back too - we didn't manage to do everything in CBeebies Land let alone the other toddler-friendly attractions like Ice Age and Sharkbait Reef. Ahhh - next time. Peter F. We're pleased you enjoyed your visit with us, and enjoyed our latest attraction CBeebies Land.
It's great to hear you found CBeebies Land attractions enjoyable, and liked the additional extras such as being able to use Greendale's Postbox to send postcards to home!
We're also pleased you found great value by purchasing towers2 tickets on the day to reduce price of entry for your next visit. We're sorry to hear your views on our entrance value, and we're pleased you used a promotional voucher to reduce these pricing for your family.
This is at no additional cost. We're also sorry to hear of inaccurate queue times in CBeebies Land, and although these are estimates and worked in your favour we would prefer more accurate queues to be displayed. We'll speak to our teams to ensure this is the case going forward. We thank you for visiting, and look forward to seeing you again soon! Kevin Durham 14 contributions. Having spent a day and night to go to the park for the fireworks event, i am disgusted with the whole experience Arriving at the park at having travelled from London i endured a total of 8hrs and 27 minutes of queuing for around 3 minutes of ride time on 4 rides.
On top of that, having requested a manager to discuss this with, nobody turned up at the exit to the ride as advised. As a result of the delay and the refusal of anyone to rectify an appalling situation, we missed the first half of the fireworks and only saw a small portion of the second half from behind a tree due to overcrowding.
Then, in absolute horror, we were caught in what can only be described as a 'serious incident' where 2 exits were blocked by security staff, who had no idea what was going on because they repeatedly sent people to the alternative blocked exit.
The whole situation was not only dangerous, it was quite frightening for everyone involved. Security staff were appalling, often huddled together not doing anything, looking out from a 'quiet' area between the two closures. I personally was crushed for around 15 minutes unable to move anywhere in any direction. I understand the concept of single riders, but when people do not move for over an hour in a 'pen' then some common sense descretion needs to be applied to allow some people on the ride to move the queue in some way, especially after having already had several complaints raised.
No matter what the 'rules' are, you cannot treat people in this way. As single riders, we were penalised and humiliated. In addition, on queueing in a 'normal' queue for Oblivion, we were then overtaken in the priority queue by everyone behind us because the queue was opened up to non priority quests. I do not accept that i should have paid extra for priority tickets to be able to enjoy a day in a theme park like this.
To end things off even worse, there were huge quese for car park tickets, another 40 minute queue for the monorail back to 'the field', for which the alternate route was by an unlit pathway on uneven ground. In between queuing the signage around the park is dreadful. At no time was i able to really find where i was going, having to ask people frequently. To add insult to injury, having been honest enough to buy a parking ticket, there was no need to do so as the gates were left open for anyone to leave, and i am aware of many many people leaving without paying, Again, penalised for being honest.
There are many issues here of time, cost, staff training, security, duty of care and health and safety. These are serious issues which need to be adressed. I recently travelled from Ireland.
Myself and my young son flew into Manchester Airport believing that this was the closest and easiest airport to use when heading to Alton Towers. We discovered fairly quickley that travelling to Alton Towers is not the easiest of things to do. There ie no direct shuttle service to the Resort, and if you do decide to take public transport using either the Bus or the Train get ready to do a fair bit of seat hopping.
It became apparent that we would need to get a taxi as its the fastest and easiest way to travel. After a huge amount of ringing around and been given prices that ranged from 70 - pounds on way , for two passengers. We eventually stumbled upon Zia from Rush Hour Travel taxis. He was on time more than helpful lovely comfortable car plus he was the most competativley priced. We got the price of 60 pounds each way.
Plus Zia came into the Airport terminal to find us as my phone network had decided not to work. Well done to rush hour travel as they made our trip a complete sucsess. Thanks I ll recommend you to all my friends and family who may need a taxi in the Manchester area. Alton Towers and "disabled" guests. If you have got a "blue badge" for disabled parking spaces then the express car park is nearer to the entrance requiring a short walk.
Present proof of being "disabled" receive a red wristband. There were 3 of us as our Big Lad is named appropriately and falls over a lot. The "disabled access" onto the rides to avoid the excessive standing and queueing isn't always immediately apparent.
The signs aren't brilliant and there were no staff on the day we went at the entrances to the rides to ask which way to go. However all the staff we asked were helpful and polite. Generally you go through the exit of the ride and walk against the flow of people to a barrier then seats are allocated to you asap.
It is a very large park, with beautiful gardens, but it is hilly, can be slippery and with lots of steps in places. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy it if you have plenty of time and haven't visited to ride the roller-coasters. The distances between the rides are substantial on foot, and even the main paths are steep in places. We saw a few wheelchair users and a "scooter" who were struggling on steep slopes even with help. The Sky Ride helps cover large distances.
Then its a steep-ish path to Oblivion, the Enterpriser and another pirate ship type ride. Be prepared for walking long distances, there are many places to rest even if it is just a rock to sit on but not much shelter on a rainy day.
Some seating areas are now covered but not all. It's a fantastic place if you love rides. Riders must be over the age of 3. Children under 1. Take on our outdoor slides before splashing down into the tropical pool. Outdoor slides are subject to availability and opening times are subject to change.
Let the waters of the Bubbly Wubbly Pool soothe you as the steam rises outdoors. Or head to the bubbling waters of Volcano Springs Have a quiet moment underneath the waterfall in Lagoona Bay, followed by a gentle swim in our indoor pool.
The Wacky Waterworks Treehouse has over 70 interactive water features to try. Have a splashtastic time with water cannons, buckets, pull ropes and water wheels! Paddle, slide and play in the Little Leak area. Our bright shallow pool is full of fun and games, just for the little ones!
Why swim when you can grab a rubber ring and head to the Lazy River?! Relax, lie back and drift along the Lazy River. This is to comply with health and safety standards and must be adhered to.
