However, my main complaint today is that I broke several laws of friendship with one of my best friends. Previous to our little affair this guy was great, genuine, funny and nice. However, he has since become arrogant, ignorant and acts in a hostile manner towards me when he is around his group of friends. If I manage to catch him alone which is very rare , he seems friendly and engaging. I really feel like I have lost a good friend, and I'm not quite sure how to handle this situation.

From what you wrote, it sounds like you care for him, as a friend and maybe more. I think that some men just change and often, freak when relationships go from friendship to more. You certainly did not make him that way.
I can't remember if you asked for advice I can't see the original post right now but if you did, I think I'd just give him a lot of space, do my own thing, and where this relationship is going will reveal itself to you very soon. You gave him something he wanted from you and now it caused him to lose respect for you.
Never lose your self respect for a man!! Be more mature than him and try to ignore him and even be hostile back. I want to tell that now it's the time for you start becoming a b--ch! After we had sex, he became very distant and was gossiping to his friends about me guys are more inmature than us So I completely ignored him.
When I could i got very nasty and colder with him. If i ever saw him alone i would not talk to him even if it killed me. So about a month or so later, he came over my house crying and begging me forgiveness. I forgave him, but could never be friends with him again because I lost trust in him.

I agree with NBC about this. Don't go out of your way to be nasty, but don't take any garbage from him either. I don't know what it is in men that they cannot handle intimacy with women with whom they have been close friends, but it's like a law of physics--they just can't.
Next time you see him around his friends, and he says or does ANYTHING you don't like, look him straight in the eye and say, "I can't imagine where you got the idea I would take that from you. That's all. Next time you see him in private, if he tries to act like it didn't happen, tell him about it.
